Enrichment

Our enrichment programme offers students a variety of activities for a deeper and broader education. As part of their tutorial programme all students discuss current affairs topics every week, receive personal mentoring, undertake study skills sessions and take part in house activities and competitions.

We have three enrichment session each week for every pupil. In these sessions students enjoy a wide variety of activities, including lectures from outside speakers, talks from universities and industry leaders and sessions on topical issues ranging from body image to politics.

For our more academic students there is the exciting opportunity to study the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Encouraging curiosity and creativity the EPQ requires students to choose a topic of personal interest and plan, research and develop their idea to a finished product (for many this is an extended piece of academic writing). This is a fabulous opportunity and helps raise the profile of students on university applications.

In addition, students follow a comprehensive careers programme to ensure that whether they are applying to university, an apprenticeship or planning to enter the world of work they are prepared and supported. We work closely with universities and local industry to ensure that students have the opportunity to visit a range of institutions to give them a real insight in to their workings.

Some of the current topics are:

  • Financial Education
  • Media Literacy and Digital Resilience
  • Work, Careers & Pathway Choices
  • Employment and Responsibilities
  • Healthy Lifestyles and Mental Heath
