Next Steps : UCAS and Apprenticeships

Next Steps: UCAS and Apprenticeships

At Epsom and Ewell High School, we go beyond academics to equip our students with the knowledge and tools for success upon completion of sixth form. Our dedicated team ensures that each student is well-informed about a spectrum of next-step opportunities, including university pathways, vocational options, apprenticeships, and employment prospects. Throughout their time at sixth form, students receive information and guidance on many opportunities that can enhance their future opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in online courses, virtual work experience and summer apprenticeships they can avail of. Students will also gain experience from external speakers, virtual open days, and the opportunity to attend careers fairs.

Students can avail of a careers meeting if they need additional support and guidance on their next steps options.

UCAS

Students work closely with the Sixth Form team to ensure that every student receives personal advice which leads to the selection of ambitious yet appropriate courses and institutions. Our students receive personalised, specific, and individual references that truly reflect their academic journey and personal development.

Each year we take a robust and thorough approach to ensure our students are aware of any UCAS deadlines. We inform pupils of key dates as they approach and discuss with students any questions, they may have about the UCAS process.

The UCAS website found below, has the most up to date information each year and so we highly recommend parents or guardian consult it when looking for guidance on what to expect throughout your child’s application.

If you are a former student planning to submit a UCAS application with our school as a reference we kindly request that you notify us of you intention before December 1st. This advance notice is essential to ensure can provide a comprehensive and timely reference to support your application. Failure to inform us by this deadline may compromise our ability to guarantee the completion of the reference before the application deadline.
