Pupil Premium
At EEHS, we recognise that the challenges that our disadvantaged students face are varied and there is no 'one size fits all'.

We believe that disadvantage should never be a barrier to success. Our mission is to empower every student to thrive in tomorrow’s world by providing the knowledge, character, confidence, and cultural capital they need to achieve their ambitions.
For 2025–26, our Pupil Premium strategy focuses on three key principles:
- Equity and High Expectations – Every student is held to the same high standards, with tailored support to remove barriers and enable success.
- Targeted Support – A tiered intervention model ensures timely, proportionate help, from universal classroom strategies to intensive, personalised interventions.
- Whole-School Responsibility – Closing gaps is everyone’s job. Teachers, tutors, and leaders work together to guarantee disadvantaged students receive consistent support.
Our priorities this year include:
- Raising attainment in English and maths and narrowing progress gaps across all subjects.
- Improving attendance and reducing persistent absence through robust monitoring and family engagement.
- Tackling literacy and vocabulary deficits with a whole-school approach to reading and language.
- Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, especially those facing “double disadvantage” (PP + SEND).
- Expanding access to enrichment, leadership, and cultural experiences to build confidence and aspiration.
We are investing £237,800 in evidence-based strategies aligned with Education Endowment Foundation guidance, including high-quality teaching, targeted academic support, and wider initiatives to boost wellbeing and engagement. Our goal is simple: to ensure every disadvantaged student leaves EEHS ready for their next steps—whether that’s higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
